This button quilt was made by Susan Bianchi - Saratoga, CA, and she calls it Red SunFlower.
It is quite stricking and well. executed and brings to mind the button blankets of the Pacific NW Native Americans.
Enjoy your closer look!

ReplyDeleteReally like this piece and your new site is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI have a rather large button collection which was started after I received my grandmother's old button jar. There are some lovelies among them. The funny thing is, I hate sewing buttons, but I do love to sort... bone buttons in one jar, shell buttons in another, etc. The colors and texture in Susan's quilt are delightful!
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired by your class to one day make something a fraction as beautiful as this button quilt! Good luck with your move. Look forward to receiving your new book!
