Way back at the beginning of the summer there was a list of things I wanted to do in conjunction with my new book coming out. Top on the list was reDOing my website and my blog. More on this will follow over the next bit of time, for with the help of my webmistress this huge project went on in the background of 'the move.
Long ago I read the words of Walt Disney who said...
"We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious, and curiosity keeps leading us down new pathways."
and we certainly have kept moving...
With the home in California sold, and the home in Kentucky awaiting it was time to set out, the packers finished and we hit the road. Thank goodness for our moms - mine in Arizona and Dave's in Missouri for in these two places our kitties found more home than hotel, and we found home cooking. It made the journey a bit easier. Here's the tale in pictures:
Nikki & Edgar were great troopers along the way. |
we chose the RT 66 trail that took us through AZ, NM, TX, OK, MO |
Stay tuned here for the 'after the move' fun .... and remember--

Have been enjoying your new adventure. Do it while you can is a good thing to live by. Can't wait to see and hear more of your new place.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully put, Rose. Thank you.....
ReplyDeleteHave fun setting up the new house! I learned from my mom, that the very first thing to do in the new place is MAKE THE BED. That way, whenever you decide you're done for the day, you can just collapse into it. For me, I added, HOOK UP THE MUSIC - that always makes things go easier, right? Right! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteToday your "old" design group did: pencil drawings of faces from magazines -guess who was the star, not me. Working on copied images of recent collages and Jeanette is working on a series. Karen keeps low profile and me, I miss you. And I am so glad it is you settling in and not me. Say hi to your mom. Lv
ReplyDeletemiss you, too.... sounds like fun. I was thinking of you all on Tuesday, saying to myself someday skype...when the studio can be breached
DeleteCongratulations on your move! What fun! I couldn't help noticing the very large ironing board in a picture from your recent newsletter. Is that custom made or did you purchase it somewhere? Would love to know... Thank you.
ReplyDeletethe ironing board in picture is actually one purchased long ago at Target -- I did several years ago make a custom one but cutting down an old bookcase and cutting a piece of plywood using my much loved specialty ironing board cover as a template. Large surface, perfect height and shelves.
DeleteThank you very much. I have made square ironing surfaces following Sharon Schamber's video. I've been considering either replacing the old ironing board I have with a newer, larger one or building my own. The largest commercial ironing board I can find is only 18" wide...
